SECOND YEARS!

Right as of now there are two second years that are definitely on board. Fahran and Marios. Both are very enthusiastic and very welcome. Clym said he wants to animate but that will come later as he currently has his hands full with rigging for WACK'D!

Marios came and showed me his UV unwrapping today. I have no idea what they were supposed to look like so Ash took a look and said it was goooood!

We do need some animators and lighters though!

Patches Rig Update

MONDAY 29TH MARCH
In the wake of my aim to get the vast majority of the rigging done before next tuesday, a task that will put me in the hospital I have finished the rig (unbinded and unweighted) for Patches.

TUES 30TH MARCH
Today I spent all day on the rig for the guard. Tomorrow hopefully We will get the blend shapes, which Lewis has finished, applied to the model then we can begin the texturing thanks to the efforts towards the UVs on Farhan's behalf. After that I can begin the weighting process and best case scenario: Guard finished on Wednesday.

What we have already..

today i took a look at all the assets that we already had made by our members. some model assets are made too high poly for what it is. Josh L's model of the apple is really good. but i just think that there are too much un-necessary vertices that is needed. so i went in and re did the apple.

Guard and Patches' Blendshapes!

Hey Guys I did all of the guards blend shapes, and a quarter of patches'. My computer was on the fritz so you'll have to settle for these renders!

Walker blend shapes

These are some of the blend shapes for walker as you cam see. Still more to come, but here hope y'all digs. Any criticsim will be much appreciated.

To any second years that are taking a gander at the blog, your due in date for the tests is Wednesday. You can either give me the files on Wednesday or post them on the public folder.

SECOND YEARS

We pitched to the second years on Tuesday and, apart from a horribly delivered pitch from myself, we had quite a good turn out. I've emailed some of them and will finish off emailing the rest soon. I've seen some of their work and it's pretty impressive, some extremely so.

Basically I want to create a folder for them in the public folders. In there I want an environment, some assets (for texturing and lighting), the character models (for uv mapping) and a rigged model of Breadbeard (for animators).

From there, they can do some tests and we can see if they are up to the challenge.

Breadbeard, Patches, Walker & The Guard

I figured I'd do a scene involving all the characters. I only guessed at their sizes compared to each other and these models aren't the 100% finished versions, but at least you can tell which character is which...

Breadbeard almost done...

Here he is... Breadbeard in all his glory (mostly)...

PROGRESS

Right guys.

It's official, we have to work our butts off. I chatted with Dan and we need to employ second years to help with almost everything.

Ash, it's unrealistic to think you can texture the whole film by yourself so I'm trying to get another UV, texturer, possibly two.

We could possibly do with a rigger.

We also need someone to help with the lighting.

Finally we need a load of animators. They have to be good but we need a lot. We have 70 shots!

I'm pitching to the second years again tomorrow so hopefully, my award winning personality could possibly attract them to the film.

If I get the second years it does not mean that we can relax. We will have to work our behinds off.

On a lighter note, if all goes well the film should be not awful....which is good.

Lazy FatBwoy Grabber WIP

Hi Everyone. I was assigned the task of modeling the Lazy FatBwoy Grabber 3000. I've modeled it based on the image emailled to me by Joshua Longmoor. I've kept the detail moderate and will add additional detail using MudBox 2010 to create a high-res normal map. Here it is guys - enjoy!

Patches Update

Patches! I updated him the other day, then Tom and I worked on him on Friday. Today I gave him some fingernails and tweaked some of the verts. He's looking pretty good. For some reason I couldn't mirror him though, my computer was being really bad!

Pickpocket Lipsync Playblast.

Still not very happy with it, but I feel that the rig is limiting what I can do in terms of adding to the animation. Let me know what you guys think.

Eyes

Hey Guys. I was unhappy with the old flat colour of the eyes so I decided to change it. I created an eye texture in photoshop and applied it to our finished guard model which tom and I completed today. Apart from the tacky lighting it doesn't look too bad.

Model

With some help from, Dean, Tom, Sarah, J.B and Dan...I got the 3d model in a pose for Jared. I was amazed that Josh's Apple was perfectly in scale with Walker. Good Job Dude and the apple looks sweet. This is kind of a test because I want to put the characters in more dynamic poses...and also have all of them. Can't wait to see what this looks life in real life!

Paul: Alive

Yeah...
I've been ill this week due to food poisening; that teaches me a lesson from eating "told" scrap meat at a break during my restaurant shift. Damn them...

But in other news things are not going good with me; and if I intend to catch up with you guys I would like someone to help work with. Louis already knows about this but its been long enough already and the more weeks I waste; the worst it gets.

I try to come in Thursday//Friday, but I really do need help. I've never been like this before...

I think Ashley is working on the environment with me (well he's done more than I have done), maybe we could work on the supermarket a bit more to make sure everything is fine?

Also I try and get some textures done THIS time. Oh and one last thing, Louis I need your email; I hate to post on this blog about these messages but I always forget to ask. It would help, thanks

LighteningTest RnD

Hi - I've finally finished the lightening test in scene using Lewis's camera moves. As you can see my concept works in practice and now can be used effectively for the final scene.
